It has been a quarter of a century since the former Genesis front man Peter Gabriel hit the big time with his 1986 release SO. The album brought him to new reaches of fame and fortune. Concerts sold out around the world as album sales soared past platinum.
Revisiting “Sledge Hammer,” Don’t Give Up” and “In Your Eyes” is a wonderful musical experience. The entire album stands the test of time. Included in the 3-CD version is a previously unreleased two-disc concert recorded in Athens in 1987 from the SO tour.
The concert is very exciting as Gabriel’s set list was fantastic. Included with the hits of the day, were his classic tunes “Shock the Monkey,” “Games Without Frontiers,” “Solsbury Hill” and others. The concert really makes this a special collection.
For Gabriel fans who just can’t get enough, there will also be a 4CD/2DVD/LP/12” Deluxe Limited Edition box set, which includes a 180-gram vinyl and a “So DNA” CD, chronicling the evolution of SO’s songs released.
