If the year were 1988, then Ethan Brosh would be as well-known as other famous guitar players of the era.

Brosh would be mentioned in the same breath as guys like Malmsteen, Satriani and Vai. As it is, Brosh will have to settle for being mentioned as a guy who should be mentioned in the same breath as those famous axe-slingers. That’s okay, though as this talented six-string maestro is getting better with each release.

Soon enough…Ethan will get his due.

His latest, Conspiracy, has been on the shelves since the middle of February. Hey…even rock critics get behind. Give me a break…and none of that ‘one break coming up’ shit either. This is not a Van Halen review…although Ethan can play like Eddie…that’s for sure!

Conspiracy contains 14-tracks of amazing guitar playing. Most of it falls under the ‘blistering’ category, yet there are softer moments and even some Randy Rhoads type acoustic stuff. 

It all kicks ass…every note. This guy is the real deal. He is melodic, mind-blowing, metal and memorable. All of the M’s…(with a bonus ‘m’ for ‘memorable’!)

A ‘not so necessary’ special guest appearance comes via his buddy Satchel from the goofy band Steel Panther. The song is called “Tomb of the Gods.”  Not since Spinal Tap and Steel Panther has a song name been so silly…but the playing on this track is bad-ass six-string mayhem...(two more descriptive ‘m’s’)…this song smokes!

The guy twiddling the dials at the Producer’s desk knows his stuff…he’s recorded a few good guitar players in his day. Max Norman is an icon.   Ozzy, Megadeth and Bad Company are just a few bands Max has worked with. The sound is excellent. 

The album artwork is also from a pretty well-known dude named Derek “Iron Maiden” Riggs.  The man did another killer album, sans any rotting corpses.

The edition of Max and Derek make this not just a great musical package…they made it a total musical package. (enough of the bolded M’s…this is getting as silly as a Steel Panther show).

Since I am obviously in a silly mood…(no bolding!)…I will let Ethan explain this release in his own words…

“I couldn't be happier with the way Conspiracy ended up sounding and looking. I go all out when I make my records and this was no exception. I feel like I finally got it right this time, what I mean by that is that it seems to me like there's a much better balance between the amount of melodies and the more mellow sounds, while there's still plenty of intense high energy moments. I'm genuinely excited to finally release a record as an actual record! Again, we went all out with the vinyl, We spent countless hours of graphic design to give my fans the most enjoyable experience of getting an album. The vinyl sleeve has lots of extra pictures and artwork that you won't get anywhere else. It's also going to be a 180gram heavyweight vinyl from one of the top-quality manufactures. In my opinion that will be the most realistic way of getting lost in this record and experiencing what the intent of the music and concept are really all about.”

If you are a lover of the electric, distorted guitar and tasty and mind-blowing solos….then you already own this album.

If you live under a rock but surf Classic Rock Revisited to read reviews hoping to discover a killer new release of guitar god-like playing…then look no more…Ethan Brosh is your guy.
