Jesse Fink comes off as much as an investigative reporter as he does an author in this amazing new book on the life and death of Bon Scott. This is the most in-depth researched book on Scott's final years ever written.
Fink goes behind the scenes and talks with Bon's friends, party buddies and lovers to get the inside scoop behind his drug use, his relationship with the Young brothers and his last days on earth.
Bon died after a wild night...that much is fact. The who/what/where/when/why/how has never been clear. Fink does his best to uncover the mystery behind his death.
It is not a pretty tale. There are stories of heroin use, irresponsible choices and possibly even a cover up.
In addition to the horror story of Bon's death we also get evidence that some of Bon's lyrics may have been used on the band's classic album Back in Black.
This is a book one can't put down once they pick it up. Fink goes above and beyond in his research. Sadly, the band were of zero help as they would not do interviews for the release. What we are left with are tales of Bon as a human being as much as of Bon as a rock star.
We still are not sure what happened or if his lyrics were used...but there is enough evidence there for the reader to make their own assumptions.
While this reader is not convinced any lyrics were used...he is convinced that the story of Bon's last days on earth has never been properly told…until now!
This book is good enough it has me waiting for the movie!
