Gary Moore was one of the most talented rock guitarists of his generation, yet, he struggled to find fame in the USA.  It’s a shame really, as he was great with Thin Lizzy, and then as a bluesman he was a true game changer.  When he unexpectedly passed away in 2011, the music world lost a man who could truly express himself through his fingers.  His solos were magical and captivated anyone who heard them.  Live, he was a fantastic performer who never relied on lights and a show to get people on their feet, instead, he did it with his music.

Live at Bush Hall 2007 was originally broadcast on Planet Rock Radio.  Eagle Rock Entertainment has released the show in its entirety, the first time it has been heard this way since the original broadcast of the show.  The set list is strong and features a few treats for die-hard Moore fans in “Eyesight to the Blind” and “I Had a Dream,” which are rarely performed live tunes from his then current release Close as You Get.  While these tunes are there for posterity’s sake, it is “Still Got the Blues,” “Don’t Believe a Word” and “Walking by Myself” that are his gems. 

Gary’s playing on any live concert of his that can be released, should be released.  He is gone, but he will never be forgotten. 

Hats off to Eagle Rock for continuing to release live concerts by this one of kind legend of both hard rock and the blues.
