Don't listen to anyone that whines, "Rock is dead" for if they are saying that then they have obviously never heard of The Oddfathers.  If you don't believe me then ask the guy who produced the band's first EP.  His name is Jack Douglas.  Yes, THAT Jack Douglas...most famous for producing all of those classic Aerosmith records and dozens of other rock classics.  If Jack says these guys rock, then that's good enough for me.  But don't take our word for it, check them out for yourself. And when you hear what you hear, then keep your eye on their Facebook page as three more EPs will be released to follow Part 1.

Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota Brynn Arens (guitars, vocals), Krys Barrato (bass, vocals), Tom Cook (drums) and Casey Gooby (guitars, vocals)  have made it their mission to keep the classic sounds of Kiss, Mott the Hoople, Cheap Trick, the Rolling Stones, The Faces and others alive and well, all wrapped into their own brand of Midwestern Minnesota rock and roll .

Okay, the name...well, I get it...their logo looks like classic mob movie The Godfather, but The Oddfathers?  Well, not so good but the music, just the opposite.  While they are not raising the bar or reinventing the wheel, The Oddfathers are making loud, fun rock music that hits the ears like a breath of fresh air.

The lead vocals remind one a bit of Diamond David Lee Roth--which, much like the real Roth's vocals, is both a plus and a minus.  They sound cool but you don't have to worry about anyone winning The Voice.  Still, they are acceptable enough and when mixed with the fun of tunes like the rockin' "Hey You" or the Cheap Trick inspired "Whisper in My Ear" they create a classic groove that is guaranteed toooooo satisssssfyyyyyyy.

These guys not only rock, they have fun doing it...something that is sorely missing in this day and age of prefabricated rock and roll.  This writer, for one, is looking forward to seeing what these guys come up with next.
