Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, Diamond Dawn are a melodic hard rock band that are a true throwback to the 1980’s heyday of the genre.  They are smooth like early Toto with an electric kick.  

The band have this stuff down and are creating and performing their music without any care of whether what they are doing is the flavor of the month or not.  Diamond Dawn are totally committed to keeping this type of music alive and well and with their debut release, one must admit they are well on their way. 

It is refreshing to see younger musicians embrace this style of music.  The opening tune “Overdrive” gets one’s attention and the entire album keeps it.  “The Hunter” and “Don’t Walk Away” are prime examples of what this band wants to accomplish with their musical vision. 

As said, fans of melodic rock and especially early Toto will want to check out Diamond Dawn.  This band will definitely carve out their spot in the genre of music they love.
